UNC Baseball Integrated Marketing Campaign

by Ryan Erisman on June 15, 2009

As I write this, the UNC Baseball team is competing in the College World Series in Omaha. Earlier this year we had the pleasure of working with UNC to pull off a marketing and awareness campaign to announce the opening of the redesigned Boshamer Stadium and to promote ticket sales.

The campaign included a personalized email to a database of 90,000 fans and UNC supporters, 2,500 postcards to the community surrounding the stadium, and an interactive message video. Our studio team traveled to Chapel Hill and shot the footage over the course of one day and edited combining with some b-roll footage supplied by Carolina.

We we’re able to acquire lists and target local residents based on the demographics you are most likely to see at college baseball games; those over-55 and families.

The postcard for the campaign included a personalized image of the recipients name on the JumboTron screen.

Both the email and postcard included a personalizedURL that linked to a variable video that placed the fans name throughout the action packed video as well as links to refer other fans and of course to buy tickets.
